A boggy meadow that belonged to a friend. The location is SW Scotland. Overgrown with rampant bog grasses and meadow flowers, small saplings here and there, taller trees scattered about, the blue of distant hills in the background, a pond for wild duck, this is a quiet and peaceful place. All of these paintings show various views of it. I always think of it as a Wild Garden - it is rich in plant diversity and has an identity that is very marked. A favourite place.
